There be 句型

助记歌诀:

There be 放句首，主语紧随在其后。

时间地点放句末，如果强调置前头。

疑问 be 提 there 前，句末问号不能丢。

否定 be 后加 not，以上几点记心头。

说明:

There be 结构的特征:

1.“There be +某人(某物)+某地(某时)”这一句型表示“某地(时)有某人(物)”。其中,there 是引导词,本身没有词义,主语是 be后面的名词,be是谓语动词;主语和谓语在单复数上要保持一致。如:

There is a map on the wall.墙上有一幅地图。 There are five birds in the tree.树上有五只鸟。 

There is no royal road to learning.书山有路勤为径,学海无涯苦作舟。

如果 There be 后有并列主语时,则根据“临近原则”来确定使用 be的正确形式。如:

There is a teacher and two students in the classroom .教室里有一位老师和两名学生。

There are three apples and a pear on the table .桌子上有三个苹果和一个梨。

有时为了强调地点,也可以把介词短语放在句首。如: On the blackboard,there is a picture. 黑板上有一幅画。

2.There be 的疑问式是将 be 提到句首,其否定式是在 be 后加 not。 

-Are there any students on the playground?操场上有学生吗? 

-Yes,there are.是的,有。

-Is there a ball under the table? 桌子下有球吗? 

-No,there isn't. 没有。

3.There be 句型中 be 可以同 lie(位于),stand(矗立),live(生活), exist(生存)等词替换。

There stand a lot of tall buildings on both sides of the street.街道两旁矗立着许多大楼。

There lies a river in front of the park!公园前面有条河。

Once there lived a tiger in the mountain.从前,山里有只老虎。 

There exists no life on the moon.月球上没有生命。

There happened to be no people in the hall. 碰巧大厅里没人。 

There seems to be something wrong with the machine .这台机器似乎有点儿毛病。

4. There be 结构的时态

(1)一般现在时形式:There is/are

There are seven days in a week.一周有七天。

(2)一般过去时形式:There was/were;There used to be

It was Sunday yesterday. There were no students in the class- room .昨天是星期天,教室里没有一个学生。

There used to be a temple here, didn't/wasn't there?以前这里有座庙,是不是?

(3)一般将来时形式:There will be;There is going to be

There will be a party in our class tomorrow.明天我们班将举行一次晚会。

There is going to have a sports meeting in our school next week.(误)

There is going to be a sports meeting in our school next week.(正)

We are going to have a sports meeting in our school next week.(正)

(4)过去将来时形式:There would be;There was/were going to be 

The headmaster said that there would be a sports meeting next week .校长说下周我们将举行运动会。

(5)现在完成时形式:There have/has been

There have been great changes in my hometown since 1980.自从1980年以来,我的家乡发生了巨大的变化。

5.There be 句型还有一些其他的变体

There has to be someone to call the police.必须得有人报警。 

There must be a way to solve the problem肯定有解决问题的办法。

There must be someone in the room.房间里一定有人。 

There should be a telephone call for me.应该有我的电话。 

There seems to be no sign of life on Mars.火星上面似乎没有生命的迹象。

There doesn't seem to be much hope of our beating that team.我们打赢那个队的希望不大。

There seem to be a lot of students in the lab.实验室里好像有许多学生。

There happened to be a traffic jam, so I was ten minutes late this morning.今天早晨碰巧遇上交通堵塞,因而我迟到了 10 分钟。 

There appears to have been a mistake.看起来曾有错误。

There came shouts for help from the river.从河边传来了求救声。
